Removal of OilTrails Unlimited and Canadian Lease Locator from App Store

As part of our commitment to streamlining our services and enhancing user experience, we want to inform you about the removal of “OilTrails Unlimited” and “Canadian Lease Locator” from the App Store.

App Functionality Still Intact

We want to reassure our users that both OilTrails Unlimited and Canadian Lease Locator are still fully functional. Although these apps have been removed from sale on the App Store, you can continue to use them without any issues.

If you need to redownload either app, simply follow these steps:

1. Open the App Store on your device.
2. Tap on your profile icon in the top right corner.
3. Select “Apps” to view your previously downloaded apps.
4. Find OilTrails Unlimited or Canadian Lease Locator and tap the download icon to reinstall.

Why Did We Have Multiple Versions Anyways?

OilTrails has been around since 2012, and over the years, we’ve used different versions to support various business models:

• Canadian Lease Locator: This was our oldest version, retained to support users who had previously purchased the app before we rebranded to OilTrails.

• OilTrails Unlimited: This paid app allowed unlimited access for users who preferred not to subscribe.

• OilTrails: Our current subscription model (with a free 30-day trial) is the premier lease locator and will continue to receive regular updates.

Why Are We Removing Canadian Lease Locator and OilTrails Unlimited?

The decision to remove these versions stems from a few key factors:

• User Confusion: Some users have expressed confusion between the different app versions, leading to difficulties in determining which app to use for their needs or expressing concern after downloading a different app from which they had made purchases on. By consolidating to a single app, we aim to eliminate this confusion and provide a more straightforward user experience.

• Update Friction: Apple has expressed concerns about having multiple versions of the same app in the store. Streamlining to one version will alleviate these issues.

• Resource Allocation: Maintaining three versions of the same app has stretched our resources thin. By focusing on a single version, we can ensure higher quality and better service.

• User Base: The majority of our users are now on the main OilTrails app. This change will allow us to concentrate on continuing to make OilTrails the best lease locator available.

What Happens If I Have Canadian Lease Locator or OilTrails Unlimited?

Here’s the good news:

• If you purchased OilTrails Unlimited, you will continue to use the app without any issues for the foreseeable future.

• If you are subscribed to Canadian Lease Locator, you will retain full access until you decide to cancel your subscription. However, please note that once you cancel, you will not be able to resubscribe to that version. You can transition to the OilTrails app at that point.

I Got a New Phone or Deleted OilTrails Unlimited/Canadian Lease Locator; Is It Gone Forever?

Not at all! While you will not be able to find them by seaching the App Store, you can still re-download the apps.

If you need to reinstall, simply follow these steps:

1. Open the App Store on your device.
2. Tap on your profile icon in the top right corner.
3. Select “Apps” to view your previously downloaded apps.
4. Find OilTrails Unlimited or Canadian Lease Locator and tap the download icon to reinstall.
